Photography Workshops
The art of photography is one of the most available of all the creative
modalities, even more so with the wide spread use of today’s
compact digital cameras. With simple, but powerful techniques, Mark
can show you how you can turn a holiday snap into a stunning visual
image fit for your wall. He can even show you how you can turn your
hobby into a fun and exciting way to create extra income from doing
something you enjoy.
The workshops are divided into two categories:
Basic/Beginners
Advanced/Intermediate
The Basic / Beginner Workshops
This workshop is available for all ages and for someone without
any prior knowledge of photography. All you need for this is a desire
to learn. The workshops last from three to four hours and will often
cover one or two locations. During this time, three key areas are
covered:
1) Composition – How to compose and set a great picture
2) Light – Without it we see nothing
3) Vision – The ability to see… all details grand and
small
This workshop is for someone who wants to take better images while
on holiday or more visually impactful pictures of friends and family,
or who simply sees photography as a hobby to be further explored.
All of this is possible without getting too bogged down with technical
information. With the above techniques in place, powerful imagery
is possible for everyone, even while using very basic cameras.
Cost:
The workshop cost is $150 per person and includes a workshop manual
and light refreshments. Minimun group number of 5.
One on one tuition can also be arranged.
Advanced/Intermediate Workshops
This workshop is tailored to those with established photographic
knowledge who want to take their skills even further. This would
suit a keen recreational photographer or a new professional wanting
to go deeper into the art of photography. These are full day workshops
which include several locations where the newly acquired technical
skills are applied.
Key areas:
1) Control – Setting your equipment fully manually to control
your
photographic outcomes
2) Lighting – Manually controlling your light/flash and working
with light meters
3) Accepting the challenge - Working to a briefs and shooting in
unfamiliar situations
This workshop will enhance and empower you to take full control
of your camera and your photographic situation. As a professional
you often find yourself out of your “comfort zone” and
it is exactly here that we often do our best work.
This workshop aims to give you the tools to enjoy and relish being
in the 'photographic unknown' and to come out the other side triumphant
with a camera
loaded with sensational imagery.
