Mark Williamson has worked as a professional photographer for over
15 years. After gaining a photography degree at Brunel College,
Bristol, UK, he honed his skills in the commercial sectors of London
and Bristol.
At this time he also began shooting overseas assignments by working
for several major publications in Africa and Asia. These shoots
took Mark to the Virunga Mountains in Uganda to photograph the endangered
mountain gorillas, to the plains of Serengetti to work with the
lions, tea plantations in Sri Lanka and public hospitals in Madras
(Chennai).
Mark moved to Australia seven years ago to explore and photograph
this amazing island continent and is currently based in Currumbin
Beach near the Queensland/NSW border.
He also conducts photography workshops and teaches all age groups,
sharing the knowledge he has gained over his professional career
of how to use the tool, the camera, to capture strong, indelible
images.
Mark's passion for his photography work stems from a desire to
explore and uncover the depth of a still image; to convey the deep
emotion or powerful visual needed to communicate a commercial or
artistic message.
